| Karen
Buley graduated from Montana State University in 1978 with a Bachelor
of Science in Nursing. She has worked in hospitals,
in a
physicians' office, and for the American Red Cross. For
sixteen years
Karen was a certified Lamaze instructor. She continues to
care
for new families and their babies in Missoula, Montana. A published author, Karen's writing credits include American Nurse Today, A Cup of Comfort for Nurses, Directions in Nursing, Family Circle, Holiday Voices, mamalode, the Missoulian, Montana Voices, www.nursetogether.com, Nursing Made Incredibly Easy, Story Circle Journal, Working Nurse, and an award-winning essay on www.allnurses-central.com. The anthology of nurses' stories she compiled--Nurses on the Run~Why They Come, Why They Stay, may be ordered from bookstores, online booksellers, and from www.nursesontherunbook.com. Born in Missoula, Montana, Karen credits her roots to Butte, America, birthplace of her parents and her home throughout most of her childhood. Karen enjoys reading, writing, hiking, and volunteer work in Missoula where she lives with her husband Rich. Their son, Eric, a 2010 graduate of Pacific Lutheran University, works for City Year in San Antonio, Texas. Their son, Colin, is majoring in math and minoring in economics at Seattle University. Karen lives by her motto, "You can't win if you don't try." |
